People who are important to me

We recognise that when children have been care experienced, especially when this has been away from their own home and family members, relationships can break down and be lost.

This can result in you not being in contact with family members, carers and other people who have been important to you.

A breakdown in important relationships can also result in gaps in your knowledge and you not being in contact with the people who can help you piece together your childhood experience and help you understand the important changes and decisions that were made in your childhood.

It can be hard to look back and remember all the important and life changing events without people or information to help your understanding.

In this section you will find information about supports that can assist you to reconnect with people who are important to you and help you understand events from your childhood.
