Debt advice

Are you worried about debt or experiencing financial difficulties? It is essential that you speak to someone about any debts as soon as possible and get support to help deal with this. If you have workers supporting you, speak to them about any debts.

If you don’t have any support workers working with you or if you would prefer you can contact the North Lanarkshire Tackling Poverty Team which has experienced  debt advisers who can help.

The debt advice service is free, confidential and available to all North Lanarkshire residents. The advice provided is impartial and non-judgemental with privacy and data protection guidelines followed at all times.

We can help you take the first steps to gain control of your finances by giving you advice on reducing outgoings and maximising your income. This could help you avoid debt, reduce the risk of unexpected costs and perhaps even have some money left to save.

If you are currently experiencing difficulties we can alleviate the stress of dealing with your creditors. We can offer advice and assistance with all debt matters.

If you want to access the service directly, you can contact the Tackling Poverty Team by phone or email:

Telephone: 01698 332551 and advise that you are a care leaver to get to the team that will prioritise your request.

You can also email the team and they will get back in touch with you as a priority.
